Los Angeles Youth Orchestra
Vienna and Prague Concert Tour
Summer 2015

Hi! My name is Chloe and I am 13 years old. I have always loved music, and I really love playing instruments. I have played piano since I was 5, and then took up the alto saxophone in fourth grade. Then, once I got into middle school, my teacher had me try the baritone saxophone, and I loved how it sounded and made me feel, so I auditioned for the jazz band at my school and made it into the advanced level.

However, I did not stop there! I had always enjoyed the bassoon, the way it has a rich, dark sound. It is such a peaceful instrument, with the way it can move so slowly and beautifully. Anyway! To get to the point, I auditioned for the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra (LAYO), and, amazingly, I got in! And even more amazing is the fact that LAYO is going to Vienna and Prague! The only problem is that it costs about $5000.

Going to Vienna would be the most incredible experience ever! It would help my musicianship, it would allow me to perform in theaters I never would have dreamed I could perform in, and it it could help me get into college (with scholarships and applications and stuff)! I was going to do bake sales with friends and things like that to raise money, but my family and I were getting worried that it would not be enough, so that is why we turned to Causevox.

All in all, going to Vienna and Prague with my youth orchestra would be an incredible experience that I don't want to miss. I am going to do my best to raise the money. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your support.

Three concerts in Austria and the Czech Republic:
Esterhazy Castle, Eisenstadt * MuTH Hall, Vienna * Dvorak Hall, Prague

The Los Angeles Youth Orchestra has been invited to perform in three of the most famous music halls in the world! This is an amazing once in a life time experience but, as you can imagine, it will require a great effort in order to get there. Obviously we know it takes practice, practice, practice....but there are also many funds required to get us there. Don't forget that it takes a long airplane trip, the work of a lot of people, the rental of some of the larger instruments, and, hopefully, a hotel room where we can all sleep comfortably!

Unfortunately, these things do not come cheap or free, so we are left with the task of raising as much as we can to make this trip as easy as possible for everyone. This is a musical education opportunity that everyone can be proud of; family, friends, and students alike can all appreciate how great it is to be able to say "My son/daughter/friend has performed at some of the most historic music halls in Europe and I helped make that possible!"

It isn't easy raising the money to send even just one child and his instrument on this tour, let alone 60! So, we're asking everyone to consider supporting us in whatever way they can to help all of us Orchestra students reach our goal and the experience of a lifetime! Any contribution will be greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU!!!!
